iTunes 9 Release
During my tenure at iTunes from 2006 to 2015 as a Visual Designer, I was actively involved in a significant visual overhaul of the platform in 2009, focusing on enhancing the user interface and overall aesthetic appeal. My contributions spanned content design for the product, creating engaging marketing materials, and reskinning visualizations to align with the new design language, playing a pivotal role in modernizing and elevating the user experience of iTunes during a transformative period for digital media consumption.
Katy Perry Exclusive Album Stream
Streaming content, now the preferred choice for consuming entertainment, was once a novel concept for Apple Music, in affiliation with iTunes. In 2012, iTunes subtly ventured into its first-ever music streaming event, hosting a listening party via Facebook. At that time, thanks to a robust social media partnership, Facebook served as a discreet platform for Apple to explore this new territory. The event featured a 24-hour exclusive premiere of Katy Perry’s album, 'Teenage Dream.'
I had the distinct honor of being the lead designer for this groundbreaking stream, which attracted over 1 million unique users in just 24 hours.
Working with iTunes
I've led creative for all the Apple.com pages related to "Working with iTunes" and the Affiliate Marketing Program. Examples include how to sign up for a ConnectMe account, marketing badge guidelines and creating custom widgets. Visit Apple.com to explore these pages.
Affiliate Marketing Widgets
Indeed, it might come as a surprise, but Apple was the pioneer, even before Spotify, in creating affiliate marketing widgets. These tools allowed 'influencers' to embed media content on their websites and earn affiliate commissions.
I had the privilege of leading the design for this revolutionary feature within the iTunes affiliate program. Remarkably, it was also my very first assignment in UX design!
Icon explorations
My journey at Apple began in visual design, a field I continue to cherish and enjoy in moderation. I'd be delighted to share more about this with you in person.
